LUCE is an upscale downtown San Francisco restaurant located in the Intercontinental Hotel. It offers artisanal, New American cuisine with global influences. LUCE offers a fine dining experience for hotel guests and locals alike.
The Challenge
The name LUCE-meaning “Light” in Italian set the tone to make lighting part of the overall design and dining experience.
The Design
Adjustable recessed lighting highlight table tops to feature fine food while other accent lights create a play of light and shadow across the window draperies and flower arrangements. LED strip lighting lines the inside of the wine displays where the lighting creates a festive sparkle off the bottles and chrome framing. Clusters of decorative illuminated spheres floating through the space add a playful lighting element.
