Firehouse 44 Exterior

Chemical Engine 44 was originally built in 1909 and served as a San Francisco firehouse until 1959. Although many of the original historic details were retained,  the transformation of this historic structure into a 6,500sf modern residence included installation of expansive windows, skylights, and a translucent bridge and stair landings to allow natural light to flow through the space.
